About Sam Altman
Sam Altman is the chief executive of OpenAI, the artificial intelligence company he co-founded in 2015. He was president of the start-up accelerator Y Combinator from 2014 to 2019, before turning full time to OpenAI. In November 2023 OpenAI's board removed him as chief executive, and he was reinstated days later alongside a reconstituted board.
