For founders

For founders: how to get your story in front of the market

Most founders we hear from have the same problems: a launch nobody noticed, a view nobody has heard, a new market they do not yet know. We are an independent publication, not an agency. Here is what we do about each of them, and what we do not.

Everything on this page is editorial and free, apart from the one clearly labelled paid track at the end. The editors decide what runs. We cannot promise coverage, and nobody can buy it.

Launch and funding announcements

The problem

You have news, a launch, a round, a key hire, and it disappears in a stack of identical press releases.

What we do

Send it to our news desk as a tip. We respect embargoes. We do not publish a release as a finished article: an editor writes our own piece, checks the facts with you, and may ask for the numbers behind the claim. Sometimes we will decide the story is not for us, and we will say so.

How to submit

Email [email protected] with the embargo date and time in GMT in the subject line. Include names, amounts, dates, a link to the evidence and a contact who can be reached the same day.

Founder interviews and profiles

The problem

A press release says what you built. It rarely shows how you think, what went wrong or what you would do differently.

What we do

We run interviews and profiles with people who build and fund companies. They are editorial: we choose the subject, we prepare the questions and we edit the result. Founders who tell us something specific, with real numbers and honest detail, are the ones we want to talk to.

How to submit

Write to [email protected] with a few lines on who you are, what you have built and what you could talk about that readers have not already heard. We reply to every message within 10 working days.

Op-eds and expert commentary

The problem

You know your market better than most commentators, but your view lives in a LinkedIn post and nowhere else.

What we do

We publish your argument in your name, on a public platform with an editor behind it. Every piece is reviewed and fact-checked, you approve the final edit, and conflicts of interest are disclosed on the page. Nobody pays: not you, and not us.

How to submit

Pitch before you write. Send a working headline, a short outline of the argument with its evidence, and a line on why you are the right person to write it. The full rules are in the contributed articles section of Submissions.

Expanding into the UK

The problem

A new market comes with unfamiliar rules, schemes and habits, and a lot of advice from people who want something from you.

What we do

We report on the UK as a place to build a company: grants, SEIS and EIS, company structures, regulation and the deals that shape the ecosystem. You will find that work in our UK Ecosystem section and in the UK Grants Radar. A dedicated set of UK guides for overseas founders is in preparation and will be linked here when it is published.

How to submit

If you are opening, launching or hiring in the UK, tell the editors. Write to [email protected] with what is happening and when. It may be a news item, or it may shape what we cover next. It is a tip, not a commitment to publish.

Partner content (paid, labelled)

The problem

Sometimes you want to tell your own story, in your own words, and have it sit next to serious reporting.

What we do

We offer partner content as a separate, paid track. It is kept apart from the editorial work above, and it never affects it.

  • Every piece is labelled Sponsored or Partner content at the top.
  • All links carry rel="sponsored".
  • Buying partner content does not buy news coverage, an interview or a favourable mention.
  • We do not accept promotion of crypto-assets, tokens or investment products, or anything that would amount to a financial promotion.

How to enquire

See the partner content section of Submissions, or write to [email protected] with the subject “Partner content”.

Running a conference, demo day or salon? See media partnerships and our events calendar.

Send an enquiry

Prefer a form to email? Tell us who you are and what you have. Editors decide what runs; an enquiry is not a promise of coverage.

Not sure which track fits?Write to [email protected] and say what you have. You can also read how we work on the About page, or use the Submissions page.
